- 32GB USB-C IronKey Keypad 200C
Kingston Technology IronKey 32GB USB-C Keypad 200C, FIPS 140-3 Lvl 3 (pending) AES256:
The Kingston IronKey Keypad 200 series are OS-independent, hardware-encrypted USB flash drives with USB-A and USB-C* ports with an alphanumeric keypad for easy-to-use PIN access.
The KP200 features XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption. It is also FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certified for military-grade security and features enhancements that raise the bar for data protection. The circuits are coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove the components without damaging them; this tough epoxy prevents attacks on the semiconductor components. The USB stick is designed to warn the owner of tampering, and it also offers protection against brute force password attacks and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad is covered with a polymer layer that protects the keys and hides key usage by analyzing fingerprints on the keys.
The KP200 has a built-in battery that allows the stick to be unlocked without software first and then connected to any device that supports a USB Type A mass storage device. This offers users the ultimate in flexibility across different platform types and operating systems.
The Multi-PIN option (Admin/User) allows an easy to remember but hard to guess alphanumeric PIN for either admin or user to be set up via the keypad. The administrator can recover a user PIN and allow access to the stick if the user PIN is forgotten or if the stick has been locked after the user has reached the maximum number of 10 login attempts. If both the admin and user PINs are enabled, the KP200 will lock the user PIN after 10 failed login attempts. If the admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, the brute force attack protection will cryptographically wipe the stick, destroying the data forever and resetting it.
The stick also offers two levels of write protection modes - a global mode that can be set by the administrator and a session-only mode that can be set by the user. Read-only modes can protect the stick from malware on untrusted systems. In addition, the administrator can load content and set the global read-only mode so that the user can access the data but cannot make changes.
FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certified
KP200 now meets the new FIPS 140-3 Level 3 military-grade security specifications published by NIST. This is an enhanced version of the FIPS 140-2 specifications that further improves the USB stick's security features and tamper protection. It includes XTS-AES 256-bit encryption and protection against brute-force and BadUSB attacks with digitally signed firmware. The circuits are coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove the components without damaging them; this resistant epoxy prevents attacks on the semiconductor components.
Operating system and device independent
Since the KP200 is equipped with a rechargeable battery, the keypad can be used to unlock the USB stick without the need for any software. It can then be connected to any system that supports USB-A or UC mass storage devices. This offers users the ultimate in flexibility for different platform types and operating systems.
Multi-PIN option
Users have the option to set up a user or admin/user mode. Admin can be used to recover a user PIN and allow access to the USB stick if the user PIN has been forgotten or if the USB stick has been locked after the user has reached the maximum number of 10 login attempts.
Global and session-based read-only modes (write protection)
Both the administrator and the user can set a session-based read-only mode to protect the USB stick from malware on untrusted systems. The administrator can also set a global write-protect mode that puts the USB stick into read-only mode until reset.
