- 512GB IronKey D500S FIPS
Kingston Technology IronKey 512GB D500S FIPS 140-3 Lvl 3 (pending) AES-256:
The Kingston IronKey D500S/SM USB flash drive offers best-in-class military-grade security that makes IronKey the most trusted brand for protecting classified information. It is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certified with new enhancements from NIST, which requires secure microprocessor upgrades for increased security and attack protection for government and military applications. Data is encrypted and decrypted on the D500S without leaving a trace on the host system. In addition to hardware-based XTS-AES 256-bit encryption, it features a rugged zinc housing that is waterproof*, dustproof*, military-grade shock and vibration resistant**, shatterproof and filled with special epoxy to protect the internal components from intrusion attempts.
The IronKey D500S is an essential pillar for meeting data loss prevention (DLP) best practices and offers the highest military-grade security to comply with data encryption laws and regulations such as CMMC, SOC2, NIS2, FISMA, GDPR, PIPEDA, HIPAA, HITECH, GLBA, SOX and CCPA along with TAA. The D500S offers more features than any other USB flash drive in its class, making it an industry-leading security solution for protecting high-value, confidential data.
The D500S performs self-tests during boot-up and over-temperature or over-voltage conditions will cause the USB flash drive to shut down. The D500S is equipped with digitally signed firmware that makes it immune to BadUSB malware, providing additional security. Brute force password attack protection is always enabled to prevent password guessing and will wipe the USB stick if too many invalid password attempts are made.
It offers a multi-password option for accessing data, supporting up to three passwords: admin, user and one-time recovery. The administrator can reset a user password and also enable a one-time recovery password to restore access if the user password is forgotten.
The D500S supports the traditional complex password or passphrase mode***. Passphrases can be between 10 and 128 characters long. The FBI recommends multi-word passphrases of 15 or more characters, which are stronger and easier to remember than complex passwords****
The D500S is the first in the industry to offer the option of two hidden partitions, which allows the administrator to create two secure, custom-sized partitions for the administrator and the user. When used by untrusted systems or sharing the USB drive, the hidden file storage keeps your data safe and invisible unless properly accessed.
Using a special key sequence, the administrator can use crypto-wipe to crypto-wipe the USB drive, destroying the data forever and resetting the USB drive to prevent unauthorized access in compromising situations.
To assist with keyboard issues, all password entry screens include an eye icon that displays the entered password to help prevent typos. A virtual keyboard is also available in English***** to protect password entry from keyloggers and screenloggers.
The D500S also supports two levels of read-only modes. Both the administrator and the user can set a session-based read-only mode to protect the USB stick from malware on untrusted systems. The administrator can also set a global write-protect mode that puts the USB stick in read-only mode until reset.
It also offers fast dual-channel performance without compromising security. The USB stick includes a unique 8-digit electronic serial number that matches the number engraved on the case, as well as a scannable barcode for deployment of the USB stick or for audit purposes.
The D500S offers many personalization options, is TAA/CMMC compliant, and is assembled in the USA.
Managed Model
Kingston IronKey D500SM (M = Managed******) USB flash drives allow larger enterprises or government agencies to centrally manage access to and use of a fleet of USB flash drives.
Military-grade hardware encrypted USB flash drive
FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certified XTS-AES 256-bit encryption with secure microprocessor upgrades for even greater protection. Built-in protection against BadUSB and brute-force attacks. New power-up self-tests and thermal and voltage protection that automatically shuts down USB flash drives when certain thresholds are reached.
Multi-password option for data recovery
Enable administrator, user and one-time recovery passwords. The administrator can reset a user password and create a one-time recovery password to allow the user to access the data again if the user password is forgotten.
Complex or Passphrase Mode
Choose between Complex or Passphrase password mode. Passphrases can be whole sentences or multiple words that only you remember - between 10 to 128 characters long. An eye icon for all entered passwords helps to avoid typos.
Industry's first option with two hidden partitions
The administrator can create two custom hidden dual partitions for the administrator and the user for a hidden file storage to keep data safe and invisible if not accessed properly. Two hidden partitions can provide additional security on untrusted systems or when sharing is required.
Crypto-wipe password for compromising situations
The crypto-wipe password erases the encryption key and deletes all data forever by resetting the USB stick.
Global and session-based read-only modes (write protection)
Both the administrator and the user can set a session-based read-only mode to protect the USB stick from malware on untrusted systems. The administrator can also set a global write-protect mode that puts the USB stick into read-only mode until reset.
Robust housing to the most stringent IronKey standards
Shatter-proof zinc housing with epoxy resin filling for physical protection against tampering. MIL-STD-810F certified with mechanical shock, vibration and drop tests. IP67 certified for water* and dust* resistance.
Unique 8-digit serial number and scannable barcode
Time-saving reading or scanning of the barcode both when providing and returning a USB stick and during all mechanical hardware checks.
Fully customizable
