A backplate provides additional ports on a PC by connecting internally to a motherboard or GPU and being externally fitted to the PC case itself. The Lindy Single Port USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C Back Plate is a cost effective, simple solution which allows the connection of Type C smart phones, digital cameras and external storage devices to a PC, without the use of additional dongles or adapters.

The USB 3.1 Gen 2 specification is capable of incredible data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps, which can be applied to many applications to increase efficiency as time spent waiting for files to transfer is vastly reduced. Integration of USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C ports on camera equipment is a prime example of how this increased bandwidth can support photographers by allowing them to quickly view, analyse and adjust images on the fly.
