Our legendary keyboard, now even better
Our redesigned ThinkPad keyboard now features tactile markings to help visually impaired people easily find the right keys. We've moved the fingerprint scanner to the keyboard, resulting in a larger sensor for a better experience. Plus, our TrackPad is now even larger at 12 cm. You can still navigate with our popular red TrackPoint—but when double-tapped, it opens the ThinkPad TrackPoint Quick Menu to tweak audiovisuals, set mute alerts, and even take notes with the Dictation toolbar for convenient speech-to-text transcription.

The 9th Gen ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 notebook uses 75% recycled aluminum on the top cover. The bottom cover is a mix of 55% recycled aluminum and 45% hydroaluminum. The keyboard frame is made from 90% recycled magnesium or 75% recycled aluminum on the WWAN models. Plus, many of the components used to create this notebook are based on recycled PCC (post-consumer content) plastic, from the speaker enclosure to the power adapter to the keycaps and more. The packaging is 100% plastic-free and partially made from rapidly renewable materials derived from bamboo sugarcane fibers.
