- Best-in-class stacking
- The M4300 is flexible for mixed stacking with 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit models, using any type of 10G ports (RJ45, SFP+, DAC cable). High availability is another key differentiator for stackable solutions: In the event of a master switch failure, Non Stop Forwarding and Hitless Failover ensure that the standby switch takes over while the forwarding layer forwards traffic to the operational stack members - without interruption of service.
- Greater flexibility
- Two half-width M4300 switches can be combined in a single 1U rack space for redundant top-of-rack installation with auto iSCSI prioritization. The 10 Gigabit ports are all independent and 1G backwards compatible for gradual transition to 10G speeds.
- Less complexity
- The entire feature set including L2 switching (multi-level access control) and L3 routing (static, RIP, OSPF, VRRP, PIM, PBR) are available without a license. Innovative auto-installation with DHCP/BootP including automated firmware and configuration file upload.
- Investment protection
- Line rate spine and leaf topologies offer a wide range of possibilities in server rooms, in branch collapsed cores or at the edge of the network. Even if a company is not yet ready for SDN, OpenFlow support provides a future-ready design for maximum investment protection.
- Secure services
- With successive tiering, Authentication Manager enables per-port authentication methods for tiered authentication based on configured timeouts. For BYOD, multi-factor (Dot1x-> MAB -> Captive Portal) authentication is effective and easy to implement, including strict policies.
